For the Nutritional Management of Overweight Cats. A weight problem can cause your cat discomfort, reduce energy levels and even decrease his or her life expectancy. This problem is typically caused by too many calories, too much fat and not enough exercise. Prescription Diet® Feline r/d® was created especially for the management of cats that are overweight or obese which can lead to heart disease, arthritis, and diabetes. Prescription Diet® r/d® is a low calorie, high fiber nutritional therapy with the highest levels of L-carnitine to effectively reduce weight and increase lean muscle mass while helping cats feel full. The nutritional formulation of Prescription Diet® r/d® may also be useful for pets with a variety of conditions.

Daily Feeding Guide

These ranges are a starting point only. Determine the amount to feed based on desired weight rather than the current weight. Your pet may need less or more food to safely lose weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, or if you are not feeding Feline r/d® for weight loss, ask your veterinarian. Keep fresh water available at all times! If switching from a canned product, make sure your pet drinks an adequate quantity of water to avoid constipation. With your veterinarian’s approval, mix increasing amounts of your pet’s new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period. Feline r/d® is available in canned and dry. Supplementation with other foods is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with Feline r/d canned, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.
