Detailed Description

Canine p/d®
For the Nutritional Management of Puppies.

During their first year, growing puppies have special nutritional needs. Prescription Diet® Canine p/d® brand pet food meets these needs. Balanced levels of calcium, phosphorus and other nutrients permit a smooth transition at weaning and provide high-quality nutrition to maturity. Prescription Diet® Canine p/d® also contains high levels of protein, energy and minerals to aid in recovery of puppies or adult dogs. Canine p/d® can be used as a recuperative formula for acute or chronic debilitating diseases such as trauma, sepsis, anemia, parasitism and surgery. For dogs requiring assisted feeding, refer to Canine/Feline a/d®. The nutritional formulation of Prescription Diet® p/d® may also be useful for pets with a variety of conditions.

Daily Feeding Guide
For puppies/pregnant dogs: These amounts are a starting point only. Your pet may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
For nursing dogs: keep food available at all times.
For adult dogs: These ranges are a starting point only. Your pet may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
Keep fresh water available at all times!
With your veterinarian’s approval, mix increasing amounts of your pet’s new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
Canine p/d is available in canned and dry. Supplementation with other foods is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food.
When using with Canine p/d dry, decrease the amount of canned food to avoid overfeeding.
