Canine u/d®

For the Nutritional Management of Dogs with Urolithiasis. Urolithiasis is marked by a variety of symptoms for your dog that often include straining to urinate, frequent urination, blood in the urine and a painful abdomen. This condition, which consists of mineral stones forming in the urinary tract, is often initially treated with surgery and then followed with proper nutrition to help prevent recurrence of the stones. Prescription Diet® Canine u/d® was developed to aid in the management of dogs with the problems associated with urolithiasis, specifically calcium oxalate, urate and cystine urolithiasis. Prescription Diet Canine u/d can also be used in dogs with advanced stages of renal disease because of its low mineral levels and formulation. The nutritional formulation of Prescription Diet® u/d® may also be useful for pets with a variety of conditions.

Daily Feeding Guide

These ranges are a starting point only. Your dog may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian. Keep fresh water available at all times! With your veterinarian’s approval, mix increasing amounts of your pet’s new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period. Prescription Diet® Canine u/d® is available in canned and dry. Supplementation with other foods is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with Canine u/d canned, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.
