Rubenal Tablets is a nutritional supplement that supports renal function in cats and dogs with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). It comes from the root of a medicinal variety rhubarb plant called Rheum officinale. It helps reduce the levels of Transforming Growth Factor (TGF�1) and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor (PAI-1). These factors are a key component for formation of renal fibrosis and resulting proteinuria that worsen kidney function. Rubenal has been shown to slow the progression to end-stage renal disease, and it works alone or synergistically with ACE inhibitors to lessen the potential of developing renal fibrosis. It can be given at the first indicator of potential renal disease�€€when proteinuria is diagnosed.
